“Nobody pays attention to this generation…”
“Nobody pays attention to this generation, except to recruit them.”-Khader Fayyad, 46

“A Palestinian teenager gazed at the ruins of his family home in Beit Hanun, northern Gaza. Much of the work available for young people here is in either disorganized security forces or armed militias.”
We really never do appreciate what we have, do we? I’m speaking from experience, recently my own hypocrisy has come out and it was until others brought it to my attention. As I look back at these past couple of weeks it makes me feel so shallow knowing that I got so upset and angry over something like college, and then I look around the world where there are people who have nothing at all. Kids who are trying to survive, and then here there are kids who whine about not getting the toy that they want. In other places teenagers strive to get an education, and then here teenagers complain about not getting into a college that is good enough for them or not getting into their first choice; or they refuse to attend a college because they have been blinded by their ego that they have built up over the years. (Once again through experience.) I guess whenever we are presented with a hard task, or whenever we are in an unhappy situation we must not cry, whine, nor get angry but we should do something much simpler and much less stressful: look down, think of those who have less than you and think if you would be able to survive a day in their shoes? Life goes by fast, but through the ups and downs we should relax, be patient, wait it out, and remember that everything happens for a reason.
