Resentment…?
September 7, 2006
I just read this article on BBC Imam Syamsi Ali (well that’s how they spelled it someone feel free to correct me), an Imam that I find has all of the great qualities, and an Imaam that I’m all ways hoping will be the one leading ju’mah because of his amazing qu’raat, was recently interviewed in this article.
“The imam, Syamsi Ali, says he wants to bind people to the US, training young people who he hopes will become leaders in the law, medicine or engineering.“
Yes I know it may seem quite shocking to some/many of you that a Muslim leader is encouraging youngsters to get involved with the law, medicine or engineering. Your probably think what is this, I have figured this out from school from our many hot topic debates that this is one of the top topics and it is the one that basically just pisses me off, and it bothers me the most when they simply say “Yeah right just look at you guys on T.V.” Look at us on T.V., Look at us on T.V., Look at us on T.V.!!! Well I guess then the only good people according to the T.V. are white people? And the only Black people steal? All Hipanic people take a little trip and jump the border? All Muslim’s are psychos/terrorists? Damn for being the “land of the free…” the public is well incredibly gullible and believes anything the press will tell them and well there goes all of the Blacks, Hispanics, and Muslim’s freedom down the drain. Did you know that after 9/11 we had so many people convert to Islam? I go to “Islamic Center of Long Island” (ICLI/westbury masjid) and I went to the qu’ran class/hifz program there and honestly I was maddd scared going back to the masjid considering that I felt that the whole country hated Muslim’s. That’s what I felt as I walked the supermarket with my mom and the usual people that gave me smiles had the nastiest faces and sometimes a curse or two would be uttered. Yeah Muslim’s after 9/11 never got the coverage of how they were treated cruely for something that they did not do. The article tell us of how masjids have inter-faith meetings, see we are willing but are you all willing to listen to us? It is easy to call an entire group of people a certain thing and not care of the impact it may have on that group, you know as long as your life is all happy and dandy then I guess its all good for you guys huh. I think it was Ali in Ummah Films who had said something like, “A religion should not be judged by its misguided followers, a religion should be judged by its teachings.” Yeah well that’s a statement that should get out into public and try to follow it as well. Anyone who sees me is like ‘Oh snap a He Jobi, shes one of them crazy Muzlims‘ (ok well maybe not the Oh snap part I juss threw that in there) Ok first of all why do you guys say Muzlims, get it right if you gunna talk about us every two seconds at least say it right its Muslims yes learn it Second it aint no He Job, its a Hijab ok say it right and learn some respect for it too Third who the hell are you calling me crazy, I mean your the one standing there sounding really weird pronouncing words incredibly wrong thinking you all smart and thinking you all tough and yet your completely wrong, what makes you think you have the right to call me crazy? Yes I know once again too much of my ramblings, I apologize but I had to get it out. If you would like please read the rest of the article here.
“All the same, it only takes one alienated Muslim youth to act on his anger and then all the goodwill of thoughtful, active Muslim leaders in New York will count for little.”
